Mentoring: Journey to Success

We know coming to college can be an exhilarating and terrifying experience all at the same time, but who better can help you through this time than a fellow college student who has been in your shoes?!

Journey to Success is a peer mentoring program designed to assist incoming freshman living in North Hall Complex – East and South Hall Complex – East with the transition from high school to college. Each student assigned to live in NHC – East or SHC – East is matched with an upperclassmen peer mentor (a.k.a. Journey Mentor) who resides in NHC – West or SHC- West. The Journey Mentor will not only serve as a guide, resource, big brother/sister, and friend throughout the first year of college, but will also help with growth in character, scholarship and leadership. This unique living option provides first-year students the opportunity to live among fellow freshman adjusting to college life as well as gain the helpful advice and experience of a trained upperclassmen peer mentor who lives right across the lobby!
