The STAR Center
Once the world headquarters of The Wesleyan Church, today this office center is home to faculty and staff members of IWU’s College of Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS.) From here, CAPS leadership manages degree programs that are delivered to ninety satellite locations across Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
IWU had experienced ten years of record growth in its traditional, online and adult degree programs when, in the summer of 2000, the STAR Financial Group donated this structure to the university. Facing a demand for office and classroom space, IWU chose to invest $3.5 million from a Lilly Endowment Grant to renovate and remodel the Center. This allowed for the relocation of the CAPS faculty and staff in the winter of 2001, which in turn opened up office space on IWU’s main campus and allowed for future expansion of both the university’s traditional and graduate programs.
Instrumental in STAR’s renovation was the installation of several one-mile fiber lines that directly connect the Center to IWU’s main computer and phone systems, providing seamless communications between the CAPS program and every other building on campus.
CAPS offices at the STAR Center include Academics, Accounting, Course Resources, Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, Student Services, Operations, and Senior Administration. Also located in the Center are Enrollment Services and Operations staff members for the College of Graduate Studies (CGS), as well as warehouse space for storing educational supplies and equipment for IWU’s main campus. In addition, the Center is home to Triangle Publishing, a division of IWU that publishes textbooks for Christian colleges and universities.

The STAR Center is located on the northwest corner of Indiana highway 37 and West 50th Street.
From highway 37, proceed west on 50th Street. The STAR Center drive is almost immediately on the right (north.)
