Maxwell Center for Business and Leadership

Formerly the home of IWU’s Adult Professional Studies programs, the Maxwell Center for Business and Leadership now houses the Division of Business, classrooms, and various campus offices. Two of these locations are of particular interest to IWU guests—the Admissions Office (CAS) and the innovative Room #126:

The Admissions Office (CAS)

Students who intend to pursue an undergraduate degree at IWU’s traditional campus (also known as the College of Arts & Sciences) will find a special home at the Admissions Office, located just off the main entrance of Maxwell Center. The Admissions Office exists to serve by answering questions, providing information, and guiding prospective students and parents through the college application process. Admissions services include*:
Arranging meetings with Admissions Counselors
Hosting campus tours with trained student tour guides
Providing information about IWU’s excellent programs and facilities
Guiding students through the college application process
Scheduling appointments with IWU coaches, professors, and Financial Aid Counselors
Offering a welcoming, comfortable environment for guests, including soda and fresh-brewed coffee compliments of the university

*Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that all services will always be available on each visit. To help us arrange a visit that will best accommodate you, call in advance to schedule: 1-800-GO-TO-IWU.

Maxwell Room #126

Maxwell 126 is one of three high-tech classrooms on campus. Wired with live, interactive video teaching projection equipment, it gives IWU the capabilities to offer distance learning to virtually any geographical location in the world. As long as the receiving site has compatible technology, students from anywhere can “sit in” on IWU classes. By video signals broadcasted from one site to the other and vice versa, long-distance students can communicate with their professor, interact with classmates, ask questions, and get answers—all face to face via big-screen TV’s.

Other offices housed in the Maxwell Center include the Center for Distributed Learning, the IWU Print Shop, Telecommunication Services, and In-house Design.

An IWU Namesake:

Maxwell Center is named in honor of Dr. John Maxwell and Dr. Lawrence Maxwell, both successful businessmen and servant leaders, and their father, Dr. Melvin Maxwell, the retired president of Circleville Bible College.

GETTING THERE:

Maxwell Center, 4301 John Wesley Court
Maxwell Center is located at the southwest corner of IWU’s main campus, north of the townhouses and south of Beard Arts Center.

At the “T” intersection 100 yards ahead, turn left (south) continuing on University Boulevard. Cross Nebraska Street, passing Hodson Hall, Evans Hall, and the townhouses.
