Hey, welcome to the Web world of IWU, or “The Wu,” as students like to call it.
As you may know, Indiana Wesleyan University is—and has been for the last two decades!—one of the fastest growing Christian universities in the country. Why is this? I’ll mention just three possibilities:
> In Campus Life magazine surveys, readers consistently tap the Wu as one of the top campuses in the country for spiritual vitality.
> Or maybe it’s the academic vigor displayed by professors who practice what they teach, who write textbooks, who invite students to collaborate on their research.
> Or is it the stunning facilities that make this one of the most modern, beautiful and technologically advanced campuses in the nation?
Whether it’s one of these reasons or all of the above, students are arriving in record numbers, knowing that they can be part of our unfolding story while starting a couple chapters of their own.
Full disclosure may be in order here: I’ve been part of the Wu world since 1990, first as a student and today as Director of Admissions. During my student days, I traveled with a drama group, made friends for life, pulled a few pranks, lost an election for Student Government President (not enough super delegates!), built my own personal food pyramid out of pizza, thus gained my "freshman fifteen," fell in love with a woman who became my wife and experienced—daily—on this campus the grace and the goodness of Christ.
Those successes—and failures—made me who I am today: a Christian, a loving husband,
a doting father who reads to his kids, a neighbor, a volunteer, a Sunday school teacher and a die-hard Cubs fan, not to mention a lousy golfer.
Of course, you don’t have to follow my 18-year plan. In just four short years, you can write a life story worth living. So get started now by scheduling a real world visit to the Wu.
