Journey 2009 New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is a program for all students including transfers, commuters, and first year students. We have program components for everyone!
New Student Orientation at IWU is slated for Labor Day weekend, September 4-7. A jam-packed weekend of purposeful fun is being planned to assist new students in their transition to IWU.
All single first-time, full time first year students under the age of 21 are required to attend the program. A letter outlining Orientation was provided at summer registration or is mailed to every accepted student, but in the event that you do not receive this vital information by August 1, please contact the Student Development Office: (765) 677-2204 or e-mail us at nso@indwes.edu
Resident students may check into their assigned residence hall at their designated time on Friday, September 4. These times will be included in your housing assignment letter. Those who do not register during June or July will have a different move-in schedule. Commuter students simply arrive Friday afternoon according to the schedule.
Meals are provided for all new students starting Friday, September 4 in the Baldwin Dining Center. In a separate packet, your parent(s) are being invited to a Parent Orientation program. They are being encouraged to take you out to dinner on Friday night (because the cafeteria isn't big enough for an additional 1000 parents), but the Cafeteria will be open in case your parents are not here, or in case they elect to eat there with you. |
