Frequently Asked Questions
When do I register for classes?
New Students will be able to register for classes during Summer Registration. Students who have sent in their deposit and housing forms will be sent a registration packet at the beginning of May.
When will I receive my Financial Aid package
Most students will receive their financial aid packages somewhere between mid to late March. It is very important that the Financial Aid office receives your FAFSA information by March 10th.
How do I sign up for housing?
In order for students to be eligible for campus housing they must fill out the housing form and tuition deposit forms that came with your acceptance letter. If you need a new copy of these forms please contact the admissions office.
When will I get my housing assignment?
Students will be assigned housing in Mid-August. Students are able to make changes and corrections to their housing request form until July 31st. After that time, you will not be able to change your housing request.
Am I allowed to have a car on campus?
All students are allowed to have a car on campus. Parking permits may be obtained in the Student Development Office for a $40 fee. Students are required to park in designated areas.

What happens if I get sick while I am at school?
IWU offers a complete health center for students. Students are able to use their medical insurance just like a normal Dr’s office.
What activities are available on campus on the weekends?
Each weekend there are many different activities on campus. You can enjoy a movie in the Globe Theatre, attend a play in the Black Box Theater, grab a cup of coffee at McConn, or take part in a SAC activity.
Where do I look for on campus employment opportunities?
Student job postings are listed on the Wildcat page, in the student newsletter the "Paw Print,"quo; or in the Aldersgate Center. Positions are generally posted during the first week or two of classes.
Where will I be able to do my laundry on campus?
Each residence hall has laundry facilities located on each floor. The facilities are coin operated so make sure you save up those quarters!
Where do I go if I need help in a class?
The Aldersgate Center, formally known as Student Support Services, is available to assist students by providing tutoring, note taking courses, and test taking services. Most services are offered free of charge to students.
What is provided in my residence hall room?
Each Residence hall room will include a bed, desk, study carol, and a dresser that is to be shared by both roommates. Closest and storage space is limited in most residence halls.
Where do I eat on campus?
The Baldwin Dining Center is open M-F for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and a Late Meal, and on weekends for Brunch and Dinner. Students can also use their meal plans to buy food in the Wildcat Express.
Will I be able to stay in my residence hall over breaks and holidays?
Each Residence Hall will be closed over breaks and holidays excluding Fall Break and Easter Break. Students will be required to sign out of their room before leaving campus for a Break.
