Christian Education
The Christian education degree will train you to work with small groups, Sunday Schools, children's ministries and adult discipleship in church and para-church ministries. This is a program for lay church vocations and does not lead to an ordained ministry position in most denominations. Many CE students double major, selecting a second major to augment their training. The two most popular double majors for this degree are psychology and adolescent ministries. If you are interested in the teaching ministries in the church then this major is for you. The lead professor, Keith Springer, has significant local church CE experience and the students get a great deal of local church, practical, experiential learning to combine with their classroom learning.
