David Vardaman

Since 1973, David Vardaman has been a pastor, serving churches in Michigan, North Carolina and Indiana. For years he has educated ministers-in-training locally, regionally and internationally. In 2002 he became an adjunct instructor for Indiana Wesleyan University. Now he is full-time with the Department of Religion and Philosophy and continues adjuncting for the University’s Master of Ministries program. He currently serves as the Pastor to Senior Adults at College Wesleyan Church.

You will find David teaching a variety of classes for the Religion Department including: Old and New Testament Survey, Church History, Wesleyan Church History, Church Rituals, and Homiletics. He may also be found facilitating a variety of classes in the master’s program including: Leadership of Preaching, Contemporary Theological Trends: Post-Modernism and the Church, Theology of Holiness, and Biblical Interpretation.

He will begin a doctoral program within the next 12 months.

David was called to preach in his teens and developed a deep interest in intercultural ministries about the same time. In addition to promoting world missions in local churches, he has made numerous short-term trips to various countries. He and his wife (Kay) invested all of 2006 in the people of Vladimir, Russia. There David counseled, taught in a Bible college, and consulted with pastors. Kay worked at a half-way house for children who were "not quite" orphans. Together they delighted in leading a young adult Bible study Sunday evenings in their Stalin-era apartment.

David and Kay have two adult children.
