I began my full-time position at IWU in 2000, as the head of the Theory/Composition branch of our Division of Music. During the past few years this program has experienced tremendous growth and continues to attract talented composers. As is the undergraduatee with most, if not all, of our Music faculty, I "wear many hats" within our Division. Depending on the year, you may find me conducting - Orchestra, Pit Orchestra for musical productions, Chorale (a one-year stint in Dr. Guy's absence); teaching - Theory and Ear- Training, Jazz Improvisation, Orchestration/Arranging, Fine ARts, private lessons (both composition and piano); "coaching" - Jazz Combo, Chapel Ensemble; and writing/composing - many projects inside and outside of Indiana Wesleyan. I continue to be involved in my local church as a keyboard player and try to emulate what a "World Changer" is by staying involved with the arts in the community - Board Member of Marion Philharmonic, Community School of the Arts. I enjoy time with my family - wife, Dara and son, Thane; exercising; listening to music (multiple styles); playing the piano; and reading - of course that is just the tip of the iceberg. If you are ever at IWU, feel free to visit me in the Philippe Performing Arts Center, office #118. God bless you!! |
