Peter Miller is a native of York, PA who began teaching at I.W.U. in 2002. Prior to accepting a position at I.W.U. Peter taught at Millikin University and served various churches as a Minister of Music for 26 years.
Professor Miller has appeared as soloist with the Pittsburgh Chamber Symphony; Millikin-Decatur Symphony, and IWU Orchestra.
Courses taught at IWU include Applied Voice, Humanities Fine Arts, Class Voice, University Singers and also accompanies applied voice students and senior recitals and plays bassoon in the IWU Wind Ensemble and Orchestra.
Professional memberships are National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Music Educators National Conference (MENC) and American Guild of Organists. Activities include Music Director for Webster-Cantrell Worship Service; Artistic Director/Conductor of The Sacred Madrigal Singers, Decatur, IL
Peter’s wife, Mary also has a Masters Degree in vocal performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She is an Elementary General/Vocal/Choral Specialist in the Decatur, IL public schools. They have three daughters: Emily and Christina are students at I.W.U. and Marissa is a senior at MacArthur High School in Decatur, IL.
