Dr, Chris Lessly is Professor of Music, and Coordinator of Music Education
at Indiana Wesleyan University. Prior to coming to IWU, she held positions at
Luther College in Iowa, and the University of Montevallo, in Alabama, as well
as elementary and secondary music positions in the Rolla, Missouri Public Schools.
Her areas of specialization are music teacher education, and woodwind performance.
As a high school band director, her bands have performed in various state and
regional competitions, as well as the Orange Bowl Parade and Field Competition
in Miami, Florida. She has served as a woodwind clinician and guest conductor
in Midwestern and southern states. She is also the founder and musical director
of the Heart of Indiana Children's choir, in Marion, Indiana. She has served ad
guest conductor for the Circle the State with song Junior High Honors Chorus in
Wabash, Indiana. Dr. Lessly holds memberships in IMEA, MENC, National Association
of College Wind and d Percussion Instructors, International Clarinet Association,
and the American Orff-Schulwerk Association.
