Alpha Omega Majors Club

PURPOSE: The purpose of the ALPHA OMEGA Majors' Club is to provide its members opportunities to gain broader perspectives and insight into their respective majors. This will be accomplished through discussions at club meetings.

Guest speakers, social events, field trips, community affairs,graduate school and job opportunities will all be included in these meetings. It also shall be a goal of this organization to help professional majors to be all that God wants them to be from the start and to the end of their collegiate career and beyond.

NAME: The name of this organization stands for the Athletic training, Leisure studies, Physical education, Health and wellness, Association formed to Organize, Motivate, Encourage, Guide and Assist professional students.

MEMBERSHIP: Students attending Indiana Wesleyan University who are majoring or minoring in physical education, recreation management, wellness management, athletic training, health and safety or coaching endorsement are eligible to join this organization.

OFFICERS: The elected officers shall be a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. These officers shall be elected at the last part of the current year for the next year. The officers elected assume office for the following year.

FACULTY ADVISOR: The ALPHA OMEGA Majors' Club at all times shall have an official faculty advisor. The faculty advisor shall consult with the club on meetings pertaining to the major's department. The faculty advisor shall also consult with the members of the executive board on pertinent matters. The faculty advisor must be from the Division of Health, Kinesiology, Recreation and Sports Studies.

OFFICERS' RESPONSIBILITIES: The president or vice president is responsible for extra curricular meetings, conference, conventions or any other type of functions that will better the club.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: The executive committee shall consist of the elected officers and the faculty advisor. The executive committee shall meet at the call of the president for administration matters.

MEETINGS: The club shall meet on the third Monday of every month. The president shall call special meetings for a special event or conference. All pertinent matters will be discussed.

COMMITTEES: The president shall conduct an election at earliest possible date after election to select heads of the following committees: social, activities and promotion. Additional committees may be instituted should they become necessary.

DUES: Dues will not be assessed to members at this time. Fees will be charged to finance special events.

AMENDMENTS: The constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of active members at a regular scheduled meeting of the club, provided it is discussed by two-thirds of the club and voted upon. Active members not attending required meetings will not participate in voting.
