Undergraduate Exercise Science
Mission Statement
The Exercise Science program at IWU is committed to changing the world by developing students for future careers or graduate studies. This community of scholars, faculty and students, promotes an environment for discovering the relationship between the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of exercise, health, and fitness.
Purpose
This program is designed to prepare students for:
- Post-graduate work in physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, exercise physiology, biomechanics, etc.
- Possible certifications in personal training, strength and conditioning, massage therapy, exercise specialist, group fitness, etc.
The field of exercise science provides various career opportunities in areas such as exercise physiology, community health, corporate fitness, personal training, physical and occupational therapy, etc.
