Division of Business Spring Awards Banquet
One of the highlights of the year is the annual Spring Awards Banquet. This event allows the Division of Business to recognize graduating seniors and honor those who have distinguished themselves through extraordinary accomplishments. The awards presented are as follows:
Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award
Criteria: outstanding graduating senior
Award: a) paperweight embedded with a commemorative award medallion from the Wall Street Journal; b) one-year complimentary subscription to the Wall Street Journal (print and on-line); c) published listing of the recipient’s name in a full page announcement in the Wall Street Journal; d) congratulatory letter from the Wall Street Journal; and e) recipient’s name posted on a walnut display plaque given to IWU.
Most Outstanding in Major Award
Most Outstanding Accounting Major
Most Outstanding Business Administration Major
Most Outstanding Entrepreneurship Major
Most Outstanding Finance Major
Most Outstanding Marketing Major
Most Outstanding Management Major
Criteria: major GPA, cumulative GPA and knowledge of major area
Award: plaque and certificate
Indiana CPA Society Accounting Honor Student Award
Criteria: a) senior accounting major; b) qualified to sit for CPA exam; c) overall GPA; d) proficiency in English, math and speech; e) willingness to accept responsibility; f) extracurricular activities (particularly of a leadership nature); and g) moral character
Award: plaque from the Indiana CPA Society and certificate
